Today

CCE offers organisational training options and over 300 short courses annually, ranging from professional development to languages and the arts.

2020

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, CCE swiftly transitioned to digital course materials and classrooms, pioneering real-time, interactive digital learning solutions.

2009

The 25th anniversary of CCE. An established provider of learning excellence, CCE looks towards the future with a commitment to community access to the University of Sydney and lifelong learning for all.

2003

The operational scope of CCE is broadened to offer continuing education, leveraging the University's teaching and research expertise for the community.

1984

CCE is officially established by the University of Sydney to provide “education, whether vocational or general, that is undertaken after an interval following the end of initial continuous education.

1977

The Board of Adult Education is established in 1977 and continued to innovate and enhance the continuing education offerings in response to an ever-increasing demand for professional development.

1963

A new Department of Adult Education is founded at the University of Sydney, and the structure of adult education is remodelled to meet the changing needs emerging in the Australian community.

1886

Records indicate CCE's origins date back to 1886, when a series of extension lectures began at the University of Sydney.
